Thirty years of ground-source comfort
Fern Gully Heating & Cooling is a geothermal, heating, cooling, and indoor air quality contractor based in Bothwell, Ontario. John DeBok has owned and run the business for more than thirty years, and in 2025 it joined the Jayden's Mechanical family.
A Chatham-Kent geothermal specialist, built over three decades.
Fern Gully Heating & Cooling grew from a local heating and cooling shop into one of Chatham-Kent's established geothermal contractors, working out of Bothwell. Over thirty-plus years, John DeBok built the business around ground-source heat pumps, the in-floor radiant and hydronic systems that pair with them, and the full heating, cooling, and indoor air quality scope a home needs around them.
The company serves customers across Chatham-Kent and the surrounding counties, from Bothwell out to Chatham, Ridgetown, Dresden, Thamesville, and the wider region. In 2025 it became part of the Jayden's Mechanical family, bringing more crew, more equipment brands, and more depth behind the same standard of work.
Trained and regulated for the work we do
Geothermal and gas work is specialised. Our crews carry the training and the regulatory standing it requires.
Specific certification and licence numbers are available on request and will be listed here once re-verified.
Why ground-source leads the work
Geothermal is not a side service here. It is the trade the business was built around, and the one John DeBok has spent thirty years refining. A ground-source heat pump runs at roughly 500% efficiency, cuts heating and cooling cost by around 70%, and lasts for decades when the loop is designed right.
That depth carries on under the Jayden's Mechanical family, alongside the same licensed crews and the same Bothwell home base.
Same name. Same home base. Wider family.
